Neon Hitch, The next icon

Heya, well I'm well into this new singer called Neon Hitch (yes actually her real name) Her voice is just so different, she's so different. My two favourite songs are covers she's done of Billionaire, and Cooler Than You.

Studio 54

I'm thinking 70s, as you all know I have a thing for that era. I'm thinking New York, and I'm thinking Studio 54. Disco dancing, sequins, velour, and gold lame. Everyone who was anyone was there- Andy Warhol, Bianca Jagger, Debbie Harry- the list is endless. It was a time of partying, and probably quite a few other bold things- it was the 70s!

Studio 54 was a highly popular discotheque in the 1970s and early 1980s. Studio 54 was originally a New York City Broadway theatre, then a CBS radio and television studio. In the 1970s it became the legendary nightclub located at 254 West 54th Street in Manhattan. The club opened on April 26, 1977 and closed in March 1986

The scene
Among the many celebrities present during opening night: Michael Jackson, Mick and Bianca Jagger, Rick James, Liza Minnelli, Jerry Hall, Diana Vreeland, Halston, Margaux Hemingway, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Salvador Dali, Brooke Shields, Francesco Scavullo, Janice Dickinson, Cher, Martha Graham, Debbie Harry, Robin Leach, newlyweds Donald and Ivana Trump, newly engaged Rick Hilton and Kathy Richards. Some celebrities, including Warren Beatty, Woody Allen, Diane Keaton, Henry Winkler, and Frank Sinatra were unable to get in, in part due to Studio 54's doorman.[citation needed] The nightclub held around 700 patrons who paid an $8 cover charge to get in each night.
Studio 54 was operated by the flamboyant, publicly visible Rubell and his retiring silent partner Schrager. At the nightclub's prime, Rubell became widely known for hand-selecting guests from the always-huge crowds outside, mixing beautiful "nobodies" with glamorous celebrities in the same venue. Alongside Rubell, doorman Mark Benecke became a fixture on the scene selecting and admitting people to the club.
"Studio", as it came to be called, was notorious for the hedonism that occurred within it; the balconies were known for sexual encounters, and drug use was rampant. Its dance floor was decorated with a depiction of a Man in the Moon that included an animated cocaine spoon. Michael Fesco presented "Sundays at the Studio."
Event planner Robert Isabell had four tons of glitter dumped in a four-inch layer on the floor of Studio 54 for a New Year's Eve party, which owner Ian Schrager described as like "standing on stardust" and left glitter that could be found months later in their clothing and homes.

BORED, Bored, bored.... and festival fashion, BOHO style....

I'm so bored these days, it's July, and all I've dealt with so far this Summer is rain, rain- OH, and more RAIN! (part from that week in the South of France, drinking monacos) well that's Ireland for you I 'spose- the country of leprechauns, and you guessed it RAIN!!!
Anyways enough of all that. I decided to make this post all about festival fashion, as it is festival season!!! So if you live in Ireland like me get your wellies out, and if your lucky enough to be somewhere hot get your gladiator sandals out! This post is all based on festival fashion BOHO STYLE..... a personal fave of mine, as I love that whole 70s, flowing locks, sun kissed skin, and peasant skirt look. Below are a few images to give you inspiration.

Boho braids, seriously cool me thinks (I wish I was good with hair *sigh*)

Get your rave on boho style.......

I just really like this picture, there's such a romantic feeling to it!

Now guys for your favourite part, and my guilty pleasure- MY TOP BOHO ICONS (I can hear your cheers from all over the world) I know I probably should of put them from favourite, to leaste favourite, but it would actually be IMPOSSIBLE for me to do, so here we go my darlings....

SIENNA MILLER
Sienna's been channelling the boho chic look ever since she burst on the scene way back in the early 00's, a personal fashion icon of mine (although think shes gone abit boring of late) I wanted to be her years ago, that messy just got out of bed hair, that yet looked perfect (why couldn't that be me) her endless wardrobe of amazing vintage clothes, what can I say I'm well jel!

KATE MOSS

Not only is she one of the most famous supermodels, in my opinion she is the one who brought the boho look back on to everyones radar. She does boho without even thinking about it, she's just effortlessly chic- boho chic that is. If I could be left in her wardrobe for 20 minutes well I'd be like a pig in- emmmm we'll leave it at that.

notable mentions
Nicole Richie
MK Olsen

Remember my darlings channel your inner BOHO CHIC!!!

Images my own archive, that were probably gotten from google images.

Just a quick Hello, and Brigitte Bardot

Well as you all know my little darlings this is my first blog, and I hope it's an success, although I don't really mind if it's not because atleaste I'm doing something I enjoy. The blog is still at the work in progress stage, but hopefully I will have it up to scratch within the next week or two!
So as this is my fist blog post I've decided to talk about quite possibly, although incredibly hard to choose my favourite style icon, and beauty Brigitte Bardot!

It was the 1950's slowly things were becoming less strict, and the smell of freedom, and rebellion was in the air. It was Cannes film festival, and a nymph of beauty was parading herself among the beaches of Cannes in an itsy bitsy bikini (quite shocking for the time) There was talk amongst everyone "who is she? Where does she come from?" Little did they know that this curvy waif (yes they do exist) would in the next fews years become one of the most famous foreign film actresss', a singer, a fashion icon, before retiring at the age of 39 in the 1970's (because as the saying goes it is better to burn out, than to fade out) She ramains in the thoughts of people for her impeccable style, she made the bikini, gingham (got married to her second husband in gingham), capri pants, and flats a must have, that has yet some 50 years on to go out of fashion. Where is Brigitte now since she has shunned celebrity, living a relative recluse in her house in St Troprez (La Madrague) surrounded by animals, and dedicating her life to animal rights.
